Job Description:

Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as a full-time TAP+ Program Assistant located at the Ralph Puckett Center.  This individual will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, service members, military spouses, and community members engaging with the center. This position provides administrative and customer service support for TAP+ activities, workforce development programs, and center operations while helping create a welcoming and professional environment. The Program Assistant supports participant intake, scheduling, communications, and recordkeeping activities under the direct of the Director and the program staff. This position is full-time/non-exempt.

Responsibilities:

Reception and Customer Service

  • Welcome visitors and provide positive customer experience.

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and inquiries.

  • Provide general information regarding programs, services, and events.

  • Maintain reception, lobby, and common areas.

  • Assist with visitor sign-in procedures and basic office operations.

  • Provide facility tours to prospective students and visitors as assigned.

Program Support

  • Assist with participant intake and registration processes.

  • Schedule appointments, workshops, orientations, and meetings.

  • Maintain participant files and program records.

  • Track attendance and assistance with data entry activities.

  • Prepare materials for classes, workshops, and events.

  • Conduct follow-up communications with participants regarding appointments and program requirements.

Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Director and staff.

  • Maintain calendars and schedule meetings as requested.

  • Assist with preparation of correspondence, reports, and presentations.

  • Order and maintain office supplies and program materials.

  • Support event setup, registration, and logistics for workshops and community events.

Communication and Data Management

  • Maintain accurate participant and inquiry records in designated system

  • Assist with data collection and reporting activities.

  • Respond to routine inquiries from students, service members, and community partners.

  • Ensure timely and professional communication with stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in business administrative technology *and* One (1) year of work-related experience

-OR-

  • A high school diploma *and* Two (2) years related work experience

Salary/Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, and sick leave, State of Georgia Retirement, Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
